Justice System Solutions
OVERVIEW
Designing for Brazil’s Justice Ecosystem
Softplan is one of the leading GovTech companies in Latin America, developing digital solutions for multiple areas of the public sector. Within this ecosystem, I contribute to the evolution of SAJ, a platform used by courts across Brazil to support judicial workflows at scale.
Designing for the legal sector means working within highly complex operational environments, where usability, accessibility, and clarity directly influence the experience of thousands of professionals handling critical public services every day. The scale of this ecosystem brings unique challenges, from navigating legacy structures to creating experiences that remain consistent and accessible across large enterprise systems.
Today, SAJ supports millions of legal processes throughout the country, helping courts optimize operations, reduce manual work, and improve efficiency across the justice system.

EXPERIENCE
Evolving Enterprise Experiences at Scale
As part of the Courts product team, I work closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to support the continuous evolution of experiences within the SAJ ecosystem. My work is focused on improving usability across complex enterprise workflows while also strengthening accessibility standards throughout the platform.
Accessibility & Usability
Accessibility plays a central role in my work within the SAJ ecosystem, especially considering the standards and regulations surrounding digital public services in Brazil. A significant part of my work involves identifying usability barriers and accessibility opportunities across highly operational interfaces through accessibility reviews, interaction refinements, and improvements aligned with WCAG guidelines, contributing to experiences that are clearer, more inclusive, and better suited for complex legal workflows.

Cross-functional Collaboration
Working within a large enterprise environment requires constant collaboration across multiple disciplines. Throughout the process, I actively partner with product and engineering teams to align business needs, technical constraints, and user experience decisions within complex legal workflows.
Part of this collaboration also involves translating usability and accessibility requirements into detailed implementation specifications, helping ensure that accessibility standards and interaction behaviors are consistently reflected throughout development.
Enterprise Product Evolution
Rather than designing isolated features, my role is centered around the continuous evolution of a large-scale ecosystem used daily by courts and legal professionals across Brazil. This involves improving consistency, refining existing experiences, and helping maintain scalable design standards across the platform.
REFLECTION
What This Experience Taught Me
Working within Brazil’s legal ecosystem has continuously expanded my perspective on designing complex enterprise products with accessibility and usability at their core. More than creating interfaces, this experience has reinforced the importance of building systems that remain clear, intuitive, and accessible for a wide range of users, even within highly operational and complex environments such as the Brazilian justice system.
It has also strengthened my understanding of how thoughtful product decisions, accessibility standards, and cross-functional collaboration directly contribute to creating more reliable and scalable digital public services.
